We were delighted
by our experience at Darna. The service was attentive and no complaints were made when we changed our seating twice. The lamb was superb and the other dishes were first rate. Our request for additional Zaatar Pita was fulfilled promptly and with a smile. The dishes are lovely and the decor very soothing. All 4 of us had a great time and we shall be back

Highly recommend!
We made reservation for a group of 8 people earlier that day. When we showed up, the table was already set for us. When we asked to change it to a different place inside, the set was quickly moved, where we wanted to be. The waiter was very friendly, and the orders were taken as soon, as we were ready, and quickly served, to say nothing of the food, which was excellent, and we will recommend this place to everyone.

Not that clean
The meal was fine but I tested the purity of the place by leaving a piece of bacon by the window. It's still there, I just checked today. The service was wonderful. I would go again, if only to visit my piece of bacon.

WEDDING DISASTER
We DO NOT reccommend hiring Darna to cater your wedding. They made many promise which they did not keep. They were not set-up on time. There wasn't enough food. And that's just the beginning...but, we're happliy married, no thanks to them...

Disappointing Darna
The last two times I had been to Darna, within the past six months, I found the service lacking - On one occasion the bread served on a Tuesday was Challah bread, old and dry, likely from the previous Sabbath. No pita bread was available. The second time, the bread was old rolls, again no pita bread available. The waiter "secretly" brought over pita bread that was slated to be served with only one dish and we were sworn to secrecy for having received it. Informed the owner, who gave us a long-winded story about how pita bread is not served in a Morroccan restaurant. Then he said he would treat us to wine, but when the bill came, he added the wine, stating he only offered to cover the second glass.

How are they still in business?
I will preface this review by noting that I d an account on Menu Pages just to leave this review. I normally do not leave negative reviews of restaurants I merely don't return. However, tonight - from start to finish - my experience at Darna was so poor that I was compelled into action. I have eaten here before, and have agreed with the reviews on the lack of service. I get it - you're a mid-priced kosher restaurant run by Israelis and customer service is not your strong point. My night began as I waited at the front of the restaurant for the hostess to greet us (and the two other parties that were waiting for a table). Evidently, she wanted to try her hand at waiting tables tonight so the hostess duties were neglected. When the manager/owner finally came to see who was next for a table, there were literally four parties claiming that they had a reservation and they were next. This has never happened at any other restaurant I've been to. The hostess' job is to greet and seat. If you have multiple parties waiting with no discernible order to be seated, that is an issue with your service. When I was finally seated and the waiter came by to take our orders, that was the last we saw of him for the night. Now I understand that you may be short staffed or overly busy, but common courtesy (and common sense) would suggest you check in on your guests to see if they needed anything (water would have been helpful). As for the food itself, I'd expect more for what I paid. The mixed grill was decent enough, but for nearly $30 a plate, I'd like better than decent food. My fiancee had the short ribs (which must be the only reason people come back) and she enjoyed them. As I mentioned before, we had to hunt a busboy down for water, and for some reason only half of our plates were cleared from the table. This wasn't a dealbreaker, but come on - don't be lazy. I don't expect you to carry all of the plates at once (though other restaurants manage to do it), but at least finish the job. Will I come back to Darna? Not likely. I keep kosher out of the house and though my fiancee does not, many of her friends do. While I don't want to make a habit of spending an arm and a leg at Abigaels or The Prime Grill, I at least know I'm getting a quality dining experience for my money at one of those restaurants. It isn't often that I can't find at least one or two redeeming qualities in a restaurant. From the service to the food to the overall value, Darna had none.

Service is not good - food gets a B+
Had dinner here tonight for the first time and was really looking forward to it - the service was some of the worst I have ever experienced in my life, no joke. The waiters are pompous, rude and unattentive. One of them even started an arguement with me and told me he was the manager (which I learned later was untrue). I would never go back no matter how good the food was.
