    Double check your order

It's no surprise that a place run by a bunch of hipsters usually means sub par service, but tonight they set a new bar for ineptitude. Don't expect retribution for their mistakes, expect a surly attitude that has landed them right where they are. If they could do anything else, the staff no doubt would. I'm sure they feel like they were the next undiscovered whatever, but the truth is, they are just another collection of entitled deadbeats who ruined someone's evening with poor service and attitude.

    Delish!

They make an awesome burger! The bun is so good that I'd actually eat it on it's own (sad, but true). I love that they use sweet pickles instead of sour, but I guess that's about personal preference. My top recommendations are the mini burger (definitely enough), the chicken sandwich (awesome), and the dumont mac and cheese (not for vegetarians, but superb). I wish they'd work on the fish sandwich; it's a bit chewy.

    Great lunch!

Went here recently for lunch with a friend. I had a cheddar burger medium with caramelized onions and onion rings. He had bacon cheddar burger medium rare with fries. All burgers come with veggie fixings (ie, tomato, lettuce, red onion, pickles). The servings were huge and packed with the onion rings and fries. The burgers were cooked to our doneness. They were really juicy and tasted great on the brioche bun. They were the perfect size. The onion rings are fantastic! You can taste real onion in them! And the batter is light. It's what I always look for but hardly get at other places. Fries were good too. Crunchy outside, soft inside. We washed it all down with a hoegardden and stella. Burgers are $12.50 each but extra for cheese, bacon, and cooked onions. And beers were $6 each from the tap. My friend said it was the best burger he's had in NYC. We would definitely go again.

    It's all about priorities.

I had a date here on Saturday night at 9:30 or so, and the place was almost entirely empty (well, the bar was a little happening). Considering how empty it was, our food took forever to come, but it was no matter to us. That aside, the hostess and our waitress were old salts and amazing at their jobs. Even after our girl got her tip, she happily gave me a beer she poured by accident for another table. As for the food - ridiculously delicious. The burger is expensive as hell and the way they get you is the extras, but if you're feeling spendy, it's way worth it. People are right about the meat being a little salty, but it hits the spot since it's paired with sweet brioche. I always order medium rare in an effort to compensate for shitty grill cooks, but this was perfectly done. Salty and charred on the outside, red and meaty on the inside. What. Fries are reminiscent of Pommes Frites, so for the love of god do not get the salad instead. My date got the chocolate milkshake, which was smooth, a bit malty, and oddly-nondairy tasting. I figured Dumont was trying to be tongue-in-cheek, but our waitress kindly informed us that the shakes are made with gelato. Enlightening. Putting aside the ridiculous prices and the slow kitchen, I would totally go back. A Hoegaarden with that burger and those crispy fry nubs is not something I can shake.
