I do eat sushi very often (all over the world). compare to those experiences I have to say Miyako is a quite good. I go there very often, because the quality of food is great and the prices are the best on the uws if it comes to real japanese food. the bento box for dinner is a great deal and offers a variety of diffrent tastes- ideal if you cannot make up your mind:) the lunch-deals are great as well. If you are in the neighborhood- give it a try. I really love it

My girlfriend and I love saki bombing, so when we found a place that had $2 Kirin lights and buy one hot Saki, get one for free, we had to try it. We did not expect the food to be that great as the place is small and inexpensive. However, we were pleasantly surprised. My girlfriend can eat sushi 7 days a week and we both agreed the rolls were delicious. We have been back several times and have never been disappointed. It is a must try!

This was one of the worst food deliveries I've ever had. I live two blocks away and it took nearly an hour for the food to arrive. The food was bland and uninspired. I would not ever order from here again.

Miyako is simply the best sushi place in UWS. I dont even write these reviews but i this place truly deserves a 4.5 out of 5, and couldn't help but write one. I really love the lunch special they have here. 3 rolls for $9!! My favorite is the EEL AVOCADO roll, which in my view is the BEST I have ever had. It just melts in my mouth and I feel like I am in heaven every time I have it. I also love the crunchy spicy tuna and the shrimp tempura rolls. Me and my girlfriend have been avid sushi fans for years and lately, we can't stop coming to this place. Everyone reading this should at least try it.

I used to order from Miyako 3-4 times each week. But that was 3.5 years ago. In 2006, I started to notice that the sushi didn't taste as fresh and the rolls were slightly smaller/skimpier than before. Then one day I dined in with some other once before loyal Miyako customers and we were just so disappointed with the quality of the fish that we all stopped ordering from them. It was SAD. This year, three friends of mine moved into the neighborhood and started ordering from Miyako and they gave rave reviews. So I thought maybe Miyako has come back! Or it was just that these friends never really had good sushi before (all three tend to order california roll varieties). But I was willing to give Miyako another try so I ordered the Sake Don and some yellowtail sashimi. Boy was I disappointed again. The fish did not even look fresh. The salmon was covered in a slime and the yellowtail was dull in color and tasted strange. I couldn't finish my meal.

Greetings! I am a regular at Miyako. I go to the Monday night all you can eat and I order in from there on other nights. I love it. I have had nothing but positive experiences there. The waitresses are friendly, warm and always willing help. They get slammed on Monday nights from 7 - 8pm - sometimes you will have to wait a bit. So? They offer all you can eat sushi, rolls, appetizers and hot dishes for a reasonable price. I usually end up spending plenty of $$$ of beers along with the food. Spicy tuna and spicy salmon are personal favorites, but all of the pieces I find to be quite fresh. I like it there.
