Great!
I've been here a few times and I have never had a bad meal. I love persian food, I've been to a number of different restaurants but I think persepolis is delicious. The filet mignon barg is great and in terms of appetizers, the eggplant/yogurt dip is a must, as well as the shirazi salad. Service was great!

Persian Food?
Decent food, but by no means authentic. The ghormeh sabzi had a strange sweet afterflavor, and the ghaimeh honestly tasted like an asian dish. The doogh is about the only thing on the menu that tastes remotely authentic. All in all, its pretty sad that a city this big is still lacking a quality persian restaurant.

a true delight
This was a recommendation from my NYC cousin who has traveled the world and is a world class cook.. What a delightful surprise. Food was great, we had the trio salad. I had the lamb shank with couscous,my husband had the chicken. Spices were subtly hot- unexpectantly but wonderful. reasonable priced. service was prompt and thankfully not overly pretentious. No one asked "is everything all right" My only complaint is they took the bread basket away before the entree and I was saving my bread for sopping up but when asked they brought a fresh basket. Prices were way below upper east side. A win win,

Mediocre food, rushed service
Went on a lovely Sunday afternoon with breeze coming in to our table right by the french doors. Decor is pretty nice. We had 2 out of the 3 vegeterian dishes and two appetizers. The borani (yogurt with spinach and garlic) was good, the salad was ok, the main courses were quite mediocre bordering on the tasteless lumps of beans or vegetables. The rice dishes were extremely dry. Service was particularly odd -servers were clearly well meaning but the constant taking away of anything that was not being used the moment you ut down yr empty wine glass or yr fork was pretty annoying. My empty wine glass (which I fully planned to refill with my remaining wine from the carafe) was almost taken away twice in a matter of 5 minutes by two different waiters (or busboys -not sure since they are all wearing the same short/vest combo). The sequencing of our cocktails, appetizers, and main dishes was pretty rushed -more appropriate for a quick meal at a diner than a $45/head dinner. It's unfortunate that I cannot recommend on any dimension as both the menu and the restaurant itself looked attractive when we walked by, but alas neither lived up to its promise by any stretch of imagination.

Best meal I've had in a long time
I don't know why people are claiming this place is expensive. My extremely delicious entree was $16.00 and was more than enough food. The service was very good (not pushy, very able to explain the menu) and the atmosphere was beautiful. If they had a location on the UWS I would go once a week. I highly recommend it.

good persian food but a bit expensive
Food is great but its a bit expensive. a glass of wine, shared appetizers and a main dish can easily bring you back 45-50 each

too pricey
I always get the salmon kebab, which is so good, but I think its a little too pricey. The dill rice is wonderful, they can use a little less butter in the rice. The waiter is wonderful, very gracious and accomodating. I have been going to this place for years, and I am not even Persian! :)
