Great food, issues with service
We come here often for a quick dessert and the cupcakes are consistently great. But, there is this one guy who is always rude and rushes you. We have been helped by a nice girl there before who deserves 5 stars for service and another girl that was fine.

The Best Cupcakes/Dessert in NYC
These are hands-down the best cupcakes in New York City, not to mention the best banana pudding, pies, and a concoction called chocolate bomb that is a delicious combo of chocolate cake and chocolate pudding. Yum! These are the kinds of cupcakes you dream about. Sometimes annoying customers crowd the counter and dither for too long about which cupcake to get. Usually they're coming straight from yoga class or the gym. This isn't brain surgery, people--they're cupcakes. Get two if you can't decide. At $1.50 each, you can afford it, especially if you're carting around those big stupid purses...

Sahara-dry cupcakes
Wow, all the great reviews made me excited to try this place. The cupcakes were really dry, the service was (rymes with itchy) and I felt ripped off. Totally disappointed.

Yummy Strawberry Shortcake!
I ordered the strawberry shortcake cake from here and it was just what I had dreamt it would be - soft, light sponge cake, fresh strawberries and the lghtest , fluffiest whipped cream ever. It was easily one of the best cakes I have eaten. I only wish there were more strawberries, but other than that, it was absolutely DELISH. I have to say though, the man at the counter was damn right condescending. I just requested for a piece of paper to write inscription so that the spelling is correct, and he was like, "why? is it a different language?" c'mon dude, it wouldn't hurt to be polite to your customers. anyway, I am ready to face some rude behavior for the yummy cakes here. They are pricey though - the 9" strawberry shortcake is $44 with inscription. But I guess all other bakeries in the city are in the same price range, if not more expensive. I am definitely going there again!

Dynamite
These cupcakes are dynamite. They are the best in the city. If I didn't have any restrain, I would slam a dozen of them in a night. Delish :)

Really just NOT the best place.
Got two cupcakes and black coffee, which I was excited about. The coffee was EH, and the cupcakes were overly sweet and too dry for my taste. (Hence the name, I suppose.) The best part was that the counter girl was completely RUDE the entire time- the hours aren't on the door, so apparently when we walked in, it was closing time. She barked "WE'RE CLOSING SOON" and just held the door open with her arms crossed and glared at us as soon as we sat down to eat our cupcakes/drink coffee. (Why then, did the register person ask "for HERE or to go"???) Nice. Sooooo happy to have spent my dollar here.
