    Good Bruschetta and Pasta

Definitely more good things to say about Via Della Pace than bad. It is a very chill place in the East Village with more than reasonable prices. I would recommend getting the "pick three bruschetta" and choosing whatever you like. I have had all of them and they are all very good. I am also a huge fan of the Lobster Ravioli. If I remember correctly it is around 15 bucks which is definitely a bargain in this city. The bartender with the ptail is kind of a ......., but besides that I can't complain. Good music too..

I am in love with this place!

Amazing food, and I do mean amazing... Awesome atmosphere. The bartender (Gio) makes amazing drinks, and as a first timer he made me feel so welcome. Really took care of our party. I would go back to this place a million times!

    Good food and fun place.

I have been to Via Della Pace (VDP) a number of times and it is always a great experience. The place has a warm vibe, the bartenders and staff are always friendly and willing to go out of their way and the food is very good and quite reasonable. That is probably why, even in these difficult times when many restaurants are suffering, VDP is always busy. I recently had a very large group at VDP to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and many of them couldn't stop raving about the food and said they couldn't wait to come back. My personal favorites are the Porta Portese (Tomato and Mozarella), Piazza del Popolo and Piazza San Pietro salads, the lasagna, both spaghetti's and the Chicken Milanese. I don't eat seafood but I hear the Lobster Ravioli and Crusted Grilled Tuna are great. Some complain that VDP is 'Cash Only'. They have a big sign on the door that says 'Cash Only' and it says it on the menu. Many restaurants in this neighborhood are 'Cash Only'. For an inexpensive place, this is no surprise, how do you think they can keep prices low? Anyway, they have an ATM right in the restaurant! They also have a downstairs lounge where they frequently have free entertainment; music, flamenco, tango dancing, etc.

    Via Della Pace is Over

We use to go to Via Della Pace twice a week or more a couple of years ago when they still had an Italian Chef. Then, what a mistake, we decided to go back on a friday night to really get disappointed: Here is the young and inexperienced new staff and vibes to "welcome" our party of 4: A very loud, hyper and rude young manager from Rome that works as bartender ( a note for the ownership; kind of odd for a manager to also work the bar...you figure!) He totally ignored us for long time wile was talking with his preferred group of ladies ( I swear he told us: "you have to wait for your drinks, don't mind if I give a little more space to this ladies, look at you and look at them...how hot they are!. Insulting me and my party.) What's left genuinely Italian in Via Della Pace today?... not certainly the food that has changed so much; all our portions were really small for the price and the area, the pasta dishes were overcooked, flat and tasteless, the once great music selection has become atonal, ugly, boring, and uninspired (they were playing some funny european rap for the all dinner time) We all gave a big "thumbs down" to that place, and we wont go around that block anymore even if they change ownership and cuisine! (on 5th street and 2 Ave. there is Frank's anyway!)

Want to go back and try everything else...

Left Via Della Pace bliss! Everything we ate from beginning to end was extreme delightful. I would recommend getting the brushette sampler, excellent. We could have just eaten that but no way, we had to try others. The carpaccio was great and the two primi piatti we got was a joy. The price was very reasonable and we both left the restaurant with the knowledge that we will be going to Via Della Pace again to try their other selections. Highly recommended.

    Excellent food and service

I was taken here by a friend who was a regular and knew some of the staff. We were treated well but I think we would have been treated as well regardless. The food is delicious, and at least to my uninformed palate, quite inventive. For example, the seared tuna and avocado bruschetta is fantastic. The servers are far friendlier than one would expect in NYC (ours was actually from Italy), and for the quality of the food the prices are quite reasonable. Plus they tend to stay open very late and don't kick out their customers at the end of the night. Really the only downside is that they don't accept credit cards. I definitely will be back.

Can't go wrong with this one

Great place for Brunch! Not too crowded. Waiters are very attentive! Will go again.
