Borderless Wine Club Promo
1 bottle of Status No (White), 1 bottle of Couvent Rouge (Red). Borderless Wine Alliance (BW)™ is a movement where wine buying is viewed as a form of activism and was created by social entrepreneur Peter Weltman. BWA scours the globe for excellent and sustainable wines from unknown corners of the world. Borderless Wine Alliance impacts global palates by supporting local communities. Borderless Wine Duo: 2018 Borderless Wine Alliance | Status No | Dabouki | Bethlehem Hills | Palestine x Israel (white). Status No is a Series by the Borderless Wine Alliance. Status No ‘Holy Land Blanc’ is a wine made from native, Dabouki grapes. The vineyards are in the rolling hills of Bethlehem, and made at Latroun winery near Jerusalem - at an 19th Century Trappist Monastery. Dabouki rapes macerate on the skins for 7 days, and age on the lees for 1 year before bottling. Status No is textural and taught with acid, spicy green herbs and lemon, with a mineral edge. Think Albarino’s saltiness x Gruner Veltliner’s spice. This wine unfined and unfiltered. Grape: Dabouki . Vineyard: Owned by Abu Nicola (Elevation: 1,000 M). Winery: Produced and bottled at Latroun Monastery, Israel. Winemaker: Adam Kassis. Wine: 11.5% ALC./VOL. Certified: Borderless Wine Alliance. Label Art: Windows - Grapes from the Holy Land by Rawan Anani. 2012 Couvent Rouge | Red | Cabernet Sauvignon/Tempranillo/Syrah | Bekaa Valley | Lebanon (Certified Organic & Fairtrade). Wine’s importance in the Bekaa Valley is unmistakable. About 10 miles to the southeast of Couvent Rouge, the pristine, 2,000-year-old Roman Temple of Bacchus sits amidst Baalbek—the Bronze Aged ruins and city’s namesake. These vineyards are part of a cooperative that is uplifting their community by transforming the illegal hash fields back into prosperous vineyards. Couvent Rouge’s owners were original founders of the important cooperative. This wine is fermented in stainless steel, aged for 20 months in concrete tanks, and then aged at the winery for 6 years. Fruit is dark and chewy, with coffee-ground fleck, and broadening texture. The wine's age has softened early tannins, but it’s still dark and youthful. This wine unfined and unfiltered. Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Tempranillo (40%), Syrah (20%). Vineyard: Terra Rossa (Elevation: 950 M). Region: Baalbek, Bekaa Valley . Vine Age: 12 years. Farming: Certified Organic. Terra Sancta Trading Company Portfolio. Must be 21 to purchase.
