Delicious, relaxed dining
I just ate there the other night...drawn in by the burrata cheese dish on the menu. That was wonderful and so was the service, the meal, the red wine our waiter recommended. It was a weeknight and it was calm, walk-in eating friendly. Service was great. Definitely going back to try everything else. Very vegetarian-friendly too, btw.

a neighborhood gem-5 stars
i took my husband to aurora for dinner - we were in soho and came in without a reservation on thursday night. the place is fantastic!!! the quality is high, the prices are reasonable, the menu is extensive, and the service is beyond reproach. we enjoyed the meal very much (except i didnt like the desert - semifreddo, which is a fancy way to say ice-cream cake)!! i started with cauliflower salad and my husband got pasta e fagioli soup then i had seabass with blood orange salad and he got lobster risotto. both dishes were so great, we nearly licked our plates clean. as i said, i think i made a poor choice with desert so we'll have to go back to check out chocolate ganache and other yumminess. we give this place 5 stars!

we love aurora!
We had a wonderful time at Aurora! The food was great and the service was lovely. For starters, we tried their salads - endive with pear and gorgonzola, apple and walnuts, and that night's special mozarella and veggies. Everything was delicious! For entrees, we were tempted by their red snapper special and were really happy with the choice! My friends also tried the grilled bronzino and the steak and said those dishes were fabulous. If you are adventurous, try the panacotta with balsamic vinegar for dessert - I was impressed by the unusual combination of flavors. You can't go wrong here, no matter what you get. Plan to spend $55-60 per person for a 3-course meal, including taxes & tip.

My new favorite place in Soho
came here with a friend on wed night (neither one of us had been before) and we both quickly became enamored with Aurora. the food was sublime-everything on the menu, from their specials, to their extensive list of options, looked great. the service was excellent-our waiter was courteous, patient with questions, and very helpful. we ordered Dush Prosciutto salad (from the specials), Endive salad, Duck Terrine (from the specials), and grilled bronzino. [I wish I could have that for dinner tonight again!!!] There was no room for dessert this time but we'll certainly be back! PS. This location accepts all major credit cards (their Brooklyn restaurant is cash-only)

Good food with poor service
I have never experienced worse service than this place. Food is good but the service is abysmal. Don't go on a friday coz they are "busy". If you want personalized service and food the way you like it go on Monday when its not busy (as per the waiter, European style, US style tip expected).

Unremarkable
Nice décor and good service are pluses. The food was acceptable, not great, and the portions were very small. Fried squash blossoms were too oily. The chef should have drained them more before serving the appetizer. The pappardelle w/veal cheeks and asparagus was basically a large appetizer. Furthermore, the chef could be more generous with the veal and the asparagus in order to create a more balanced dish. Upshot: ambience and pleasant service without higher-quality food cannot justify the excessive prices and do not merit a return visit.

review from a local
i live one block from this restaurant and have eaten there three times. the food is just ok. but it is a nice spot. unfortunately the service is not good. literally was just there with a friend who is visiting and we wanted some quick pasta before a movie. were that at 4:45. there were people at 5 tables. a very snooty waitress looked the girl i was with up and down and said, we are closed. come back in 10 minutes.
