overrated! stay away!
really bad experience here. i've read the reviews and just don't understand how anyone thought this was good food. there are so many better italian spots on the UES. went there on saturday night and pretty much had everything the waiter recommended. the wine was weak, to start. the goat cheese crustini was ordinary and without gusto (thanks for the chopped tomatoes on top! that made it worth the $15!). the octopus salad was a joke - there were some undefinable ingredients in it. i would have preferred if they didn't cook the octuopus first thing in the morning and then dish it out in the evening, nice and cold. the main dishes were mediocre (my date's raviolis were edible) and i had a lamb pasta pocket that no - ZERO - seasoning. so disappointed. worst part? our waiter couldn't have cared less. please don't go here for dinner.

Noise level too loud to enjoy
Walked by many times. Decided to try when my sister was in town. Wanted a nice bottle of wine, good food and some time to talk and caught up. The wine selections are good, though the server tried to force an expensive bottle on us. Food was OK. It was so loud in there, we had to shout to hear each other. Too bad. I probably won't go back

Delightful
I pass Felice's pretty exterior almost daily and had been wanting to try it for some time. I finally had the chance and it was a treat. The atmosphere is wonderful, you get the feeling of a Tuscan farmhouse, though I must say towards the end of the dinner it got a bit loud. The appetizers (salads, meats & cheese, crostini) were all absolutely incredible, especially paired with their nicely curated wine list. The pastas (and I'm told from my company, the meats) were hot, cooked to perfection and flavorful. The service overall was good, albeit a tiny bit sloppy, but I'm willing to let that slide because it was such a wonderful meal in a wonderful setting. I would highly recommend trying Felice. It is high quality Tusnca-Italian food at resonable prices. Definitely a welcome addition to the lackluster restaurant world of the UES.

still going...
This cute place is still churning out great food at REALLY reasonable prices. Their pastas are expertly cooked and entrees are spot-on. Ive been in a few times in the last 2 months and haven't had something miss yet. The service is super friendly and is always around. I've spent a lot more and got treated a lot worse at other places. It's just refreshing to know people actually like to see you have an enjoyable time. My point is: If you are around or have thought about it, GO. They still don't take reservations for small parties so be prepared to hang at the bar for a bit but the wine is great too.

Cozy Date Place!
This bar has the most inviting, positive vibe to it. Perfect for a girls' night out or for a date. The decor is absolutely beautiful and warm. Wine selection is great. Dessert (chocolate mousse cake) was delicious. The service was the best part. I went there on a busy night and the host/manager went out of their way to find me a place to sit while I waited for a spot at the bar. They were friendly and accomodating. I definitely will be going back.

Great dinner! Will be back!
Cozy, rustic winebars are opening up all over the city. This is hopefully a keeper. It's great for a date or a good weeknight treat. The restaurant is small, but every table is cozy and comfortable (none are too close to the kitchen or door). We had the house special merlot, which was very nice. We started with a terrific cheese & meat platter that is big enough for 3 people to share. Then their special pesto pasta was a little al dente for me, but the sauce lived up to it's starred review in TimeOut NY. Very nice waitstaff, and beautful decor. A great addition to the neighborhood.

stick with the tapas
just had dinner at felice. i live around the corner and have attempted to dine there twice before but both times i walked in it was so loud that i turned around and left. finally got there early enough tonight to give it a try without having to yell across the table. our waitress was very nice and our table was perfectly candle lit. there were four of us...didn't order appetizers, not hungry enough but we all ordered dinner. -meat in bolognese was dry -we all had to use salt because of the blandness -bread basket was nice-good olive oil -all of our pastas were al dente but had a sand papery feeling which wasn't pleasant in the mouth -wine was nice, savuto $41 basically it was just ok. i think having some wine and a meat/cheese plate is the way to go. but then again i can just do that at home for 1/3 of the price...
