    Can't wait to go back!

I recently went to Jaiya on a Sunday night and had the best time. The hostess and waitress were both very sweet and attentive. The drunken man noodles I had were amazing! The atmosphere was warm and romantic and all of tables were full! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Terrible Service Food not even spicy anymore

I have been to Jiaya many times pre renovation and the food was excellent (spicy) and service was good. However, post renovation the service was terrible-- they took our food before we even were finished eating it and the food was BLAND. They raised the prices and lowered the quality- I will not be returning again.

    Sweet staff, meh food

The service here was attentive and friendly. Cute place, stylish and modern but not antiseptic. The food, however, was a disappointment. The papaya salad was decent, but that's a pretty difficult dish to mess up. I also had the spicy basil dish with tofu and vegetables. The vegetables were overcooked, with way too much bok choy. The tofu had a sour, "off" flavor. I asked for it medium spicy, but it was very bland. I've been to Thailand, and have been eating (and enjoying!) Thai food all my life. This is just another in a long string of disappointing, mediocre Thai restaurants in NYC.

Don't Listen to the Negativity: Top Notch Food AND Service

I don't understand all the negative reviews posted here for Jaiya. Food: Absolutely wonderful. Extremely fresh and authentic preparations--much of the cuisine here will be too spicy for non-Asians (medium level is the highest one needs to go, as extra spicy can just be inedible quite frankly). The vegetables, from base ingredients to cilantro garnish are so aggressively robust and flavorful that it may spoil you from going to the land of frozen goods a la Spice and all other noveau-chic thai restaurants; this place has changed its decor to match the rest, but the food remains a standout. Service: I absolutely cannot understand the negative comments about service; we had at least 2-3 waiters at our beckon and call, providing instant refills and check-ins. Service is extremely friendly, accomodating, and quick. This restaurant provides more hands-on, considerate and attentive service than the $30+ per entree business casual only haute restaurants which fill this city. --Overall, this is the 2nd best Thai restaurant in the city, hands down (#1: Sripraphai in Woodside)

    worst service

The waitress was performed a very poor service on my table. I don't think she could even speak much of english. The restaurant was looking good after the changes. Anyway, I liked the food here but a service.

    poor service

The food is very mediocre but the service is poor. The waiters rush you in their attempt to kick you out asap to make room for the next customers. After requesting us in two failed attempts to leave, a waiter came by and dumped a set of plates on the table i was sitting at. The overall experience was subpar and frustrating

    pad thai

The pad thai is plain, boring and unappetizing. Don't get it.
