    My favorite NYC restaurant!

This may be my favorite restaurant to visit in NYC! Every time I go back they remember me and treat me and my friends like royalty! The food is fantastic and they always add things to the menu! I have had several events there for business and personal including my bridal shower! Leela Lounge is a MUST GO!

Thumbs Up from a very satisfied Indian

My friends and I frequent Leela Lounge once or twice a month after our classes. The food is absolutely delicious. I am a very picky food critic especailly of Indian food. I find the Leela menu quite inventive and well thought out. Being a vegetarian, I particularly enjoy the Saag paneer, Corn palak kebabs and methi seekh kebabs. I do enjoy single malts and I am pleased they carry Glenroth.

    No service

We had a booking for leela loung last Friday night. When we showed up they didn't have our booking recorded. This was ok as they were not busy. We were shown our table, left there for 20minutes before a waiter came by and gave us 2 menus between 6 of us and said he apologises as they have run out of menus. The restaurant was not even half full and noone else had a menu. After a further 15 minutes of being ignored we got up and left.

Thumbs down from a disappointed Indian

Very disappointing experience! We went there with colleagues from work and it was the first time with Indian food for some in our party. Naturally, as the few Indians in the group, it came upon us to order on behalf of everyone. We decided to sample the chef's surprise. Leaving nothing to chance we asked the waitress to find out from the chef what he would cook for us as a vegetarian dish. She came back saying that the chef had decided to prepare "vegetable Jhalfrezee". We agreed and settled into our appetizers. When the meal arrived, as I bit into the chef's delight, I realised that the vegetable jhalfrezee actually had chicken in it!! Needless to say, that the vegetarians in our group who had never tasted meat were extremely offended. Of all the places in the world, you do not expect an Indian restaurant to get this wrong! On the whole, the food was stale and looked recycled. I have had better Indian food in the city at smaller, cheaper and less fancy places than Leela. Leela does not measure up at all in terms of Indian food. Go there if you just want to hang out in the lounge but don't venture into the food.

    Excellent Evening

I took a special friend to Leela Lounge. What an excellent choice for dinner! The food was top notch in both presentation and flavor. We both love Indian food, but this was unlike anything either of us have ever tasted. It was delightfully spiced, not at all overwhelming. The spices made our tastebuds very happy! The drinks were excellent! When we finished dining, we went to the bar and enjoyed more! We had the chance to meet the chef and spoke at length with the owner who is a great guy. The atmosphere was great! The restaurant iwas perfectly lit with beautiful and engaging artwork adorning the walls. The artwork served as conversation starters themselves! Nice night!

    Great Service & Atmosphere!

If you are looking for a great ambiance, where you can sit enjoy your food, your conversation and your glass of wine...not too big, not too small. Great lounge bar area with couches that fit up to 40-50 people! Went there for dinner once and a birthday party... so much fun! I strongly recomend for a date and/or just grabbing drinks with your friends - but definitely a perfect spot for a party too!
